Requesting an
E-Mail Account:
All members of the Selfridge Cadet
Squadron may be provided an e-mail account at no charge.
All e-mail accounts are in the form first_name.last_name@selfridgecap.org
If you do not have an e-mail account
and would like one set up, contact the webmaster, Capt. Jim Van Luven, at webmaster@selfridgecap.org,
or request one to be set up at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
E-Mail Access:
E-mail can be accessed either through
a web browser or with an e-mail client software program, such as
Microsoft Outlook.
E-mail can be checked via the internet
from any web browser by accessing the "webmail"
link on the main page, or by directing your browser to "http://selfridgecap.org/webmail"
If you desire to send and receive
e-mail using a program installed on your computer, such as Outlook, you
can configure a new e-mail account using the following settings:
smtp mail
server = mail.selfridgecap.org
pop3 mail server = mail.selfridgecap.org
outgoing
port = 587
user name = first name.last
name
password = password (default is CAP ID)
Mailboxes are currently limited to 20 MB of space. This is
also the maximum message size. If you have a need for more space,
please contact the webmaster.
Mail Forwarding:
If you regularly use another e-mail address/account, you may
request to have messages that are sent to selfridgecap.org forwarded to
your regular e-mail account. This will allow you to see incoming
messages without having to regularly check your selfridgecap.org e-mail
account. Original messages can be saved in the selfridgecap.org
system, or deleted after forwarding. Note that if you wish to have
any replies come from your selfridgecap.org address, you will have to log
into the selfridgecap.org webmail to send the
message, or have an e-mail client configured to send mail using the
selfridgecap.org account.
If you wish to have e-mail messages forwarded, please contact the
webmaster and specify the e-mail address to have messages forwarded to,
and also if you would like the original message saved or deleted after
forwarding.
